I’m Hannah, and I am happy you are here! Perhaps you’re wondering how I came to create SOL?
I moved to Costa Rica five years ago to pursue my dream of playing professional soccer and, five years later, I am still playing in the women's professional soccer league. During this time, I have been able to experience this beautiful country as a women's soccer player, a tourist and also as a local.
I have also held a day job while here and, combined with my previous work experience, I’ve accrued many years of experience in the sports, customer service, sales, and tourism industries, including:
· a surf hotel
· a vacation property management company
· a restaurant, as server, host and manager
· a soccer coach
· an English teacher
· a real estate agent
· a tour planning organization
I have traveled widely here and now have a Costa Rican partner, Luis, who is an ex professional soccer player and has been one of my great travel partners over the years and has been the gateway to many of my current connections and local insights.
In sum, I have a great understanding of the local "tico" culture and the true meaning of "pura vida" and know the ins and outs of Costa Rica, and I want to help people experience Costa Rica beyond the typical tourist pathways. I have built the smartest and most reliable contacts, have first-hand knowledge of the hidden gems in this exquisite country, and I want to help every visitor check the must-do items off the bucket list while also having an authentic cultural experience.
My goal is to consult with you on how best to enable you to appreciate and participate in the culture of Costa Rica, in ways the common tourist trip doesn’t accommodate.
